Kavita (Lori) Richardson, PTA/CYAT
Kavita /Lori Richardson PTA, CYAT is a long time student of yoga and movement exploration. She regards the movement of the body intrinsic to the releasing of emotional blockages within the psyche, freeing the mind for a deeper meditative experience. Her interests are wide and varied. Working within the framework of Amrit Yoga principles, Kavita excels at teaching fundamental movement through her exploration of various paths of movement including: Pilates, Belly dance, Chi gong; and diverse paths of yoga such as Vini yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Kundalini yoga. In allowing these practices to "blur", she brings a highly integrated practice to her teaching. Her Prenatal/postnatal practices are self-developed; from informed study, but mostly from a personal desire to bring knowledge and ease to women approaching the birth experience and beyond.
With more than 10 years of teaching experience, she is certified through the Amrit Yoga Institute Level 2 Teacher Certification. She has been certified in Pilates Mat through the YMCA.
She received transmission of the Incan Muna Ki shamanic teachings as given to Dr. Alberto Villeldo as 5th generation through friend and mentor Bhakti Prem.
In these and other practices, she is still exploring and expanding her own realm of experience. Kavita graduated the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2009 from CCRI, with AAS, and is currently practicing outpatient therapeutics at Whole Health PT in Pawtucket, RI. She brings to all her teachings and practices the intention of blending both Western and Eastern healing techniques and philosophy.
