Craniosacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a modality that can create dramatic improvements in your life. It relieves the pain and dysfunction that are the result of deeply held tensions. It improves function by freeing up constraints on the cranium and the spinal cord, allowing the craniosacral fluid to move freely through its system. Through the application of light-touch, CST facilitates pressure release of various structures upon the brain and spinal cord, impacting the whole body via the central nervous system. This very relaxing therapeutic approach releases bone compression, and unwinds fascial restrictions that allows your body to self-correct.

By freeing the CNS to perform at its best, CST eliminates pain and stress, strengthens your body’s resistance to dis-ease, and enhances your health and well-being. CST improves your body’s ability to heal.

CST is performed fully clothed, and a session can last an hour or longer. CST has been shown to relieve or abate the intensity of a spectrum of pain, illness and dysfunction, including:

* Migraines & Headaches
* Chronic Neck & Back Pain
* Stress & tension-related Disorders
* Motor-coordination Impairment
* Brain & spinal cord Injury
* Chronic fatigue
* Fibromyalgia
* TMJ
* Scoliosis

* PTSD
* Central nervous System Disorders
* Orthopedic & many other problems

Many people are able to decrease their medications after system reorganization.

CST was developed by Dr. John Upledger, an Osteopathic physician. He was a Professor of Biomechanics at the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University during the 1970’s and 80’s where he led a team of anatomists, physiologists, biophysicists and bioengineers in performing the clinical research that became the basis of the technique that he came to call Craniosacral Therapy. He founded The Upledger Institute in 1985. Craniosacral therapists are now trained all over the world.
