1st Saturday of every month, beginning October 5th

with Dr Alan Post

The exceptional health benefits of meditation for our body, mind, and spirit have been well documented.  Join Dr. Alan Post contributing author to Rajinder Singh’s landmark book; “Meditation as Medication for The Soul” (published in five languages), for this experiential class. This is an opportunity to learn an ancient meditation practice that enables one to still the mind and open to the universal source of inner light, healing, and peace hidden deep within.

This free class includes instructions, meditation time, and discussion. These sessions will be excellent for beginners.

Alan R. Post D.C. graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Logan College of Chiropractic and holds a post-graduate certificate in acupuncture. In 1993, he was a member of the North American Physician Delegation to China and is a past president of both the RI State and North–East regional chiropractic associations. He is a past member of the Advisory Board at the University of Bridgeport Chiropractic College. Dr. Post has been meditating since 1976, and he is one of the 14 contributing authors to the 2012 landmark collaborative book Meditation as Medication for the Soul by best-selling author Rajinder Singh (now published in five languages).

Drum Circle

1st Sunday of every month, from 3-5pm.

“Drumming with others brings with it many benefits. Taking part in a drumming circle attunes us to the invisible energy that exists between us while uniting us in a common purpose. Drumming can be relaxing as well as energizing.”   –  Madisyn Taylor

All forms and types of musical instrumentation are welcome (i.e. drums, didgeridoos, sound bowls, shakers, strikers, stringed instruments, bag pipes, whistles, flutes, spinning poi, hula hoops).  And of course, you are welcome if you just want to listen and dance!  Santosha’s drum circle is a family oriented, relaxed-atmosphere event.  (We’re short on chairs though, so if you have one to bring, please do.)

Introduction to the Shamanic Journey

2nd Thursday of every month from 7:30-8:45pm

$5-10 suggested donation (No pre-registration needed.)

The shamanic journey offers a path to self-discovery and personal empowerment. After identifying and getting to know your guides, or teachers, in “non-ordinary reality,” you can turn to them for wisdom – to this natural intelligence that lives in all of us – whenever you feel the need for advice or whenever you have a problem to solve.

In these sessions, you will learn how to create useful questions, identify helpful guides, and navigate the Lower and Upper realms in order to discover the guidance you seek.

Please bring something to write with, a notebook, and an open mind.

Susan Friendson is a spiritual counselor with many years of shamanic experience. She teaches yoga and works with private clients at Santosha.

Suspended in the space between wakefulness and sleep, the healing energy of Reiki and the meditative state of Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) merge to offer balance and harmony to the mind, body, and spirit. Lie in savasana (corpse pose) throughout the session as Jo-Ann leads us into Yoga Nidra, while Christie offers the healing gift of Reiki to each participant. Receive what YOU need while sharing the Love and Light in a safe, welcoming environment.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing a yoga mat and blanket with you.

Jo-Ann Lemay has been practicing Reiki since 2013.  Led by a deep longing for spiritual fulfillment, the practice of Reiki found her at Santosha.  She diligently worked with clients and eventually achieved the level of Reiki Master.  In addition to Reiki; Jo-Ann is an Amrit Yoga, and a Yoga Nidra instructor, musician, and song writer.

Christie Arsenault was certified Reiki Master Teacher in May of 2012. Christie is passionate about teaching and attuning her students to Reiki energy so they may become a channel for healing themselves and others.  Christie has volunteered Reiki services to patients and staff at South County Hospital, and she believes that helping others to heal has brought much healing to her own life.
