2025 - The year of the Wood Fire Snake!
Santosha Yoga | JAN 25, 2025

A 3,500 year-old tradition, celebrated on the second new moon after the winter solstice, and taking place between Jan 21-Feb 20th is the Lunar New Year. Also known as the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival. This year, Chinese New Year is on Wednesday, January 29th - join us that evening for our monthly Pop Up Qi Gong with Maxx, followed by Yoga Nidra with Bob!
In honor of the end of Winter, and in hopes for a prosperous year ahead, you may want to change your everyday energy up by cleaning your house, or maybe decorate with lots of red for good luck!

The Chinese zodiac is a 12 year cycle that has an animal connected to each year, along with one of the 5 elements (Water, Fire, Earth, Metal, Wood). To further personalize your Chinese horoscope there is also a sexagenary cycle of 10 Heavenly Stems and 12 Earthly Branches, which simply put: can present to you a double elemental personality.
This year is the Wood Fire Snake! Which will have the personality of both the Wood and Fire elements with additional intensity given to the fact that wood gives rise to fire! Regarded as little dragons, snakes shed their skin (sometimes called the “dragon’s coat”) to symbolize rebirth and good luck. Snakes also represent wisdom, happiness, and wealth. May the year ahead bring you lots of energy, strength, and new horizons!
