Join Padma on Her Journey of Swadhyaya
Santosha Yoga | NOV 4, 2023

In the past 2 years, I have fallen off my practice. I buried myself in my day job believing that I didn't have time to do things I wanted to do for myself but somehow there is always time to do the things others want. I have been teaching the entire time but not honoring the perpetual student in me. I have gone down the road of feeling like an imposter and questioning whether or not I deserved to carry the teachings to others. As you can imagine I have been in a long spiral down.
I recently returned from a Yoga Nidra retreat that I have decided to use as a reset. It was inspiring and motivating. It also gave me a glimpse of myself that I had lost. This being said, I am diving in and immersing myself in Swadhyaya (self-study), making healthier choices for myself, cultivating my personal practice and just focusing on mySelf.
I would love to take you along with me. The ups and downs, lefts and rights, the “is this stilling and non-stilling”. I will be experiencing all of this as I give my Self space to feel and heal while supporting and honoring myself all along this journey. Each week I'll share my journey with you in the newsletter or as a blog post. Some weeks I may have a lot to say and some weeks it may just be the journal prompt I’m working on that week. I feel sharing my journey with you will keep me accountable and motivated and I hope to do the same for you.
This Thursday I started back at my daily yoga class. It was hard but it felt great in my body. It also brought up a bit of emotion for me. I had a (much needed) good cry in savasana. That release of emotion was the cherry on top of that delicious class. I have also been journaling every day since I returned from my reset retreat. It’s a great way to work through something that's been troubling you or just a great way to empty your mind. I connect with nature in some form every day as nature is where I feel my best. Whether a barefoot walk on the beach, gazing at the sunrise, or just barefoot in my backyard pulling weeds. That connection with nature is very important to me. I am also working on cleaning up my eating as well. Low carb, tons of veggies and seafood. So I may incorporate a recipe or two along the way.
Please join me on this journey of exploration, vulnerability and self-love. I am currently in the process of finding a book to help inspire this journey. One of my intentions is to read and write every day. If you have any book recommendations, would like to share something along your journey or just want to say Hi, please feel free to reach out :) (padmagering@gmail.com)
