Slow Your Roll Yoga

A Yang style (Sun) yoga is more external, energetic, warming and upward, strengthening the body, improving circulation and flexibility. Yin is more internal, passive, cooling, and downward. It works on the connective tissues and joints, stimulating the meridians (energy channels) bringing balance to the organs in the body.

Sun/Yin Yoga brings together the benefits of both styles of yoga, one active round of Sun Salutation followed by passively holding Yin yoga poses with ultimately balancing body and mind.

Starting with one round of Sun Salutation we will focus on the breath. There maybe a few other standing postures before we move down to the floor as we continue to maintain a focus on the breath and settle into our yin poses. This class is a balance between action and stillness, will and surrender, doing and non-doing.

Props that may be used in class include but are not limited to bolsters, straps, blankets, blocks, pillows…
