What is Kirtan?
Kirtan is a call-and-response style chanting event. Jagdish will use his voice, our voices, and musical instruments including the harmonium, drums, and other percussion to recite mantras (songs) that express loving devotion (bhakti). As you feel the music, you may feel drawn to dance or move, or you may simply sit and receive. We encourage you to actively participate to the extent you feel comfortable – adding your voice to the group energy throughout the evening, especially when you hear the call “bolo,” a signal to us in the group to chant loudly & repeat back our part. Kirtan is most of all a chance for our community to come together in the shared expression of love & devotion for the light within.
Everyone is welcome! Invite your friends & carpool. Or book yourself a nearby Airbnb and make it into a moment to honor the Solstice fully with a whole day and night of connecting to the Light within.
Please plan to arrive by 6:45pm to allow time to park and walk up to the Yurt!

Jagdish has been a beloved part of the Santosha, Anahata, and Amrit Yoga community for decades.

Jagdish Tom Buckland is a devotee of his Guruji Yogi Amrit Desai. After his years of immersion in the teachings of Amrit Yoga Amritji honored Jagdish with the title of Naad Brahm (Sound of the Absolute) for his devotion to a personal practice of Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound. Jagdish was drawn to the vibrational impact of mantra and kirtan through the chanting of Amritji, Bapuji Swami Kripalvanandji and Bhagavan Das, who he’s also had the blessing of assisting numerous times over the years. It has been a transformational practice for him and whenever he chants he hopes it can be that for you as well.

What is I AM Yoga?
I AM Yoga (Integrative Amrit Method of Yoga) combines physical yoga practices and ancient yoga philosophy into a unified whole. In I AM Yoga, you’ll be guided to allow poses, breath, energy, and awareness come together in one unified flow. It is called “I AM” because the practice always points back to the pure witnessing presence (consciousness / Awareness) that exists before thought, reaction, and identity.
I AM Yoga understands every movement, sensation, and breath as an expression of energy (prana). Through this energy connection, the practices merge with Awareness, becoming a meditation in motion. Every pose on the mat, breath technique, progressive relaxation method, and mindfulness tool is an integrated part of the process. In this way, the physical body becomes a gateway to deep inner transformation.
