Join Janie Ganga for a full yoga practice of I AM Yoga. This is a Hatha Yoga style that integrates moments of meditation throughout the practice. The flow includes 26 poses – with warm ups, standing poses, Sun Salutations, Warrior Poses, Standing Balances, Seated, Face-Down, and Reclined Stretches and movements. The class ends with Shavasana for full integration. Unique to I AM Yoga, you’ll get cues for Press Points & Energetic Extensions to connect you to sensations within a pose; and then during the Second Half, you’ll be guided to moments of stillness to feel the impact of the pose.

Our recommendation: the first time you practice, use the Video with a device & a screen that you can easily see! That way, you can glance up, especially if you aren’t completely certain about the shape, to get a visual reference. And when you repeat the practice, just use it as an Audio – so you can be more present in your own experience without being distracted by any visuals. As we sometimes say in a loving way: “Stay on your own mat!”

A few notes:

  1. Integration with Life - At Santosha Yoga, we invite you to practice inward focus, even while you are right there in the midst of your actual life. This recording includes some sounds of dogs and cats, so you’ll feel right at home when you practice in your space! And if you get distracted while you practice, no problem – just bring your attention back to the instructions and your own breath and body as soon as you can.
  2. The Second Half of the Pose – In I AM Yoga, we take short moments of integration all throughout the practice. Unlike Vinyasa or other styles of yoga that try to keep the body moving all the time, we Pause on purpose – to feel the impact of the shapes and breath practices.
  3. Internal Experience is more important than how it looks! – Even though we’re sharing the video with you, we encourage you to let go of the external. It’s way more important to tune in to your own energy and notice how a shape feels for you. We’d rather have you work toward feeling the energy of the pose – down through the feet & up through the crown of the head, or from fingertip to fingertip.
